All-Staff Update

Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center moved under Student Affairs

Grange Building

Effective Jan. 2, 2025, the Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center has moved from Undergraduate Education to Student Affairs and become part of the Health and Wellness portfolio of units that report to Associate Vice President Talea Drummer-Ferrell. Administrative and budget transitions have begun and will be completed by the end of the fiscal year.

This change is administrative in nature and will not change the mission, location, or program portfolio of the Center. This move is part of the merging and evolution of Undergraduate Education and Faculty Affairs and our systemwide efforts to best align resources. Students’ financial wellness is the priority of the Center, and this move will help staff work more closely with other colleagues in Student Affairs who focus on student wellness and coordinate with Student Affairs' new holistic student wellness initiative, Flourish Penn State. Students will not be impacted by these administrative changes; the only communications will be internal to Undergraduate Education and Student Affairs.

Julie Heaton will continue to attend UE Council meetings and lead collaborations with Undergraduate Education and Faculty Affairs, and the Center’s outstanding work in financial wellness will continue.

If you have questions about this administrative change, please contact Kathy Bieschke or Melissa Johnson.
